Working Hand-In-Hand with Youth to Create Stronger, Healthier Communities

We work alongside youth, especially those facing greater challenges, to reduce barriers, eliminate unfair differences, and create stronger, healthier communities. Our approach to youth engagement is intentional, embracing all voices and building bridges to connect young people to leadership opportunities and advocacy. Our accomplishments include

  • Hosting a weekly safe, substance-free space for rural youth to gather during the summer
  • Offering life skills training for Teens for Change and community members
  • Working with youth on CPR/First Aid certification and Sign Language courses
  • Supporting youth in advocating for local libraries
  • Creating spaces for youth to engage in policy and public health

Youth Engagement

Young people are not just participants in our work. They are leaders! Their ideas, skills, and voices improve our community-centered programs, policies, and priorities.

We use proven strategies to ensure that youth are genuinely involved in decision-making and supported in growing their skills and leadership. We are launching a Youth Health Advisory Council to support young people in leading on issues like mental health, substance use prevention, and environmental responsibility.
