Dr. Darci Martinez, RN, DNP, FNP-C

Director of Nursing Division

Dr. Martinez is dedicated to the authentic development of the nursing discipline that advances the well-being of our communities. She has 20 years of nursing leadership experience in hospital and community health settings, including in the United States Army as an Officer in the Army Nurse Corps. Her leadership has resulted in increased access to care, strategies addressing health equity, and advancements in nursing knowledge development. Dr. Martinez’s vision for ACHD nursing practice includes innovation, research, education, and health policy. She addresses current healthcare issues in Adams County through service as a board member of the National Association of Hispanic Nurses – Denver Metro Chapter, Colorado Center for Nursing Excellence, and the University of Colorado, School of Nursing, Alumni Association.

Other focus areas include community resiliency in the face of the climate crisis. Dr. Martinez acutely recognizes the interdependence of human health and the environment and actively works to address environmental challenges that significantly impact population health outcomes. Her commitment to planetary health is evident in her practice as the Co-Chair of the Colorado Environmental Justice Advisory Board, a member of the Commerce City Environmental Policy Advisory Committee, and the Alliance of Nurses for Health Environments.
