Mellissa Sager, J.D.

Assistant County Attorney

Mellissa Sager is a 2015 graduate of the University of Maryland Carey School of Law, where she earned her J.D. with certificates in both Health Law and Environmental Law. She served as a Senior Staff Attorney with the Network for Public Health Law from 2015 to 2019 and the Policy and Government Relations Officer for the Tri-County Health Department, Colorado’s largest local public health agency, from 2019-2022, focusing on equitable policy change to improve public health in both roles. Mellissa now serves as the Assistant County Attorney for Health with Adams County, Colorado, where her primary client is the County’s new local public health agency. In this role, Mellissa supported the formation of the Adams County Health Department and provides ongoing legal support to the Department and Board of Health on a wide range of legal issues. Mellissa also serves as lead attorney on employee leave, benefits, and mental health hearings.
