Child Care Routine Inspections
Adams County Health Department’s Child Care Task Force conducts routine health inspections for licensed child care facilities to ensure compliance with Colorado’s Rules and Regulations Governing the Health and Sanitation of Child Care Facilities in the State of Colorado. Routine health inspections for child care facilities are required at least every two years but may occur more frequently based on an assessment of risk. While the Health Department does not license child care facilities, a passing health inspection is required for approval by the Department of Early Childhood Division of Early Learning Licensing and Administration (DELLA). Updated Regulations (Effective April 14, 2025)
CDPHE completed a stakeholder process to update 6 CCR 1010-7, Health and Sanitation of Child Care Facilities in the State of Colorado. The proposed changes were adopted by the Board of Health on February 19, 2025 and will go into effect on April 14, 2025. The updated regulation will be posted on April 14th. In the meantime, please reference the redline version of the current regulation to view the changes that were made.

Disease Prevention, Outbreak, and COVID-19 Support for Child Cares
Our Health Department provides disease prevention and control guidance to child care programs within Adams County, including those that do not traditionally require Health Department approval for licensure (e.g., sports, performing arts, or faith-based camps). Child Care New Construction/Remodeling: Plan Review
All new programs must submit the Child Care Plan Review Packet before starting any construction or remodeling. The plan review packet fee must be paid, and the plans must be reviewed and approved by our department before any work begins.
