Health Coverage Options for Undocumented Coloradans in 2025
What is changing? For the first time, some undocumented people (including those with DACA status) living in Colorado will be able to qualify for Health First Colorado (Colorado’s Medicaid program) or health insurance plans through Connect for Health Colorado. Undocumented Coloradans can still enroll in health insurance plans through the OmniSalud program, but financial help for that program remains limited. What are the options for 2025? Depending on factors like income, age, pregnancy, and DACA status, undocumented people in Colorado who are seeking health insurance coverage in 2025 can qualify for the following programs:
1. Health First Colorado or Child Health Plan Plus (CHP+). These programs provide free or low-cost medical coverage and care.
2. Connect for Health Colorado. The official health insurance marketplace where people can enroll in private health insurance plans and get financial help.
3. The OmniSalud program. This program provides a separate, secure marketplace (Colorado Connect) where people without an immigration status can enroll in private health insurance plans and get financial help.
Although coverage offered by the programs listed above provide comprehensive medical coverage, undocumented people in Colorado can also enroll in certain emergency medical programs at any time.
How can people get help and enroll? We know that more options can bring more complexity to the enrollment process. We are here to help. Schedule your appointment with a Health Enrollment Specialist via Scheduler Search (findhelp.com) or call us with questions at 303-363-3013.
