Secure Transport

HB21-1085, Adams County now requires secure transportation services to be licensed by the Adams County Board of Commissioners to provide urgent transportation for individuals experiencing a behavioral health crisis to a hospital, a mental health treatment facility, approved alcohol and substance use treatment center, or a walk-in crisis center. Licensing and permitting is now available for vehicles used in the secure transportation of patients for medical purposes.

Please read this completely before applying. The process includes two portions, a License Application for the company and a Permit Application for the vehicle(s). These documents must be submitted together, as a packet, to ensure prompt processing. There are three documents linked to assist you with your application:

  1. Secure Transport Checklist to assist you with all necessary requirements. Please ensure that all requirements are met when sending in your completed documentation.
  2. The Secure Transport License Application to License Application) concerns the company or corporation providing the Secure Transport. Please fill it out in its entirety and ensure that a notary signs where applicable. There is an associated fee of $400.00 for each license application. The license is valid for 3 years and must be renewed at the end of its term. The original, notarized form must be submitted to Adams County Health Department for processing.
  3. Secure Transport Permit Application to Permit Application)needs to be submitted for each vehicle that will be used in the Secure Transport service. There is an associated fee of $125.00 for each vehicle inspection that must be submitted with the permit application. Vehicle inspections must be renewed on an annual basis.
  • Original documents for both the License Application as well as Permit Application(s) must be submitted to Adams County Health Department, addressed to 7190 Colorado Blvd; Ste 200, Commerce City, CO; ATTN: Secure Transport.
  • Original documents can either be mailed or dropped off at the Commerce City office; Suite 200 (2nd floor: Environmental Health).
  • Once documentation has been submitted and reviewed, you will be contacted to schedule an in-person inspection. If a vehicle fails inspection, it must be re-inspected at a cost of $125.00 per failed inspection.

Fees

  • New License Application fee: $400.00.
  • Renewal License Application fee:  $300.00 (license is renewed every 3-years).
  • Secure Transport Vehicle inspection/re-inspection/failed inspection/renewal inspection fee: $125.00 per vehicle (renewed every 12-months).
