A precautionary boil water advisory has been issued for the Town of Strasburg after low water pressure was detected over the weekend. The town’s water storage was drained while fighting a fire near Byers.
While no contamination has been detected, this advisory has been issued out of an abundance of caution to keep residents and businesses safe. Work is currently being performed on the water system with the goal of lifting the advisory by July 17.
While a boil water advisory is in place, residents are reminded to:
- Bring water to a rolling boil for one minute before consuming it.
- Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation.
- Infants, older adults, and immunocompromised people should avoid drinking the water during this time and instead use bottled water.
