Water Conservation

Groundwater is a largely non-renewable resource, and as population increases in the Denver Metro Area, there is increased demand on both surface water and groundwater resources. As demand increases, competition for water resources is intensifying and so is the importance of conserving water and implementing best practices for the efficient use of water.

Rainwater Collection

Visit the Division of Water Resources for more information on rain barrels and when they are allowed in Colorado.

Graywater

Graywater is a part of the wastewater produced in a residential, commercial, or industrial building that may be collected and put to a second beneficial use. Graywater includes wastewater discharged from laundry, showers, bathtubs, and bathroom/laundry sinks. Currently, Adams County has not adopted a graywater control program in our jurisdiction.
